Hi! My name is Jaimi Houle. I am a fourth year UX Design student at Wilfrid Laurier University.

I have always loved design ever since taking a graphic design CO-OP in high school, I knew that I wanted to choose a similar career path.

My Passions and Skill set

Proficient with Adobe Illustrator and Figma.

Ability to work both with a team and independently.

Visual and functional design skills.

Creative design ability and wireframe skills.

A Peek Into My Life

I have many hobbies which I enjoy in my free time. Many of which include my desire to learn new things. Some examples of this include embroidery, baking, photography, and trying to learn some basics in speaking French. As well I enjoy travelling, and last year visited Montreal with some of my friends.

I also have enjoyed doing various volunteer positions in my school, such as being an Orientation Week Icebreaker. Through this I helped with moving in first year students and aided with events during Orientation week.

As well, my parents have a dog who I adore. His name is Oakley, who we initially fostered and then ended up adopting.

My Future Goals

As I am wrapping up my degree and nearing the start of my career, I have a few goals I wish to complete.

  • To begin my academic career, I first intend to finish off my school career at the end of spring 2025. While I only have one semester left I wish to continue to learn more and finish my final year feeling strong in my developed skills.

  • Once I have completed my education I am looking forward to beginning work in this field. I have been passionate about design and this career choice for many years now, so the prospect of starting a new position excites me.

  • Even though I feel I have learned a lot in my classes, I know that there is always more to learn. I am looking forward to apply my skills into my future job and to see what more I can learn working in the business world.
